Terms of Service
GuardBlock Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 January 2026
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of GuardBlock's website, software, documentation and related services. They form a binding agreement between you and Triple Link Labs Pty Ltd trading as GuardBlock ("GuardBlock", "we", "us" or "our") and the person or entity using the Services ("you").
By creating an account, clicking to accept these terms, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. What GuardBlock is
GuardBlock provides software and related services for setting up and administering collaborative Bitcoin security arrangements and vault workflows. GuardBlock is a software provider. GuardBlock is not a bank, exchange, broker, insurer, trustee or deposit-taking institution.
GuardBlock is intended to support self-custodial or collaborative security arrangements in which you remain responsible for your keys, devices, security setup, transaction decisions and compliance obligations.
2. Eligibility and authority
You may use the Services only if:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you have capacity to enter into a binding contract; and
- if you act for a company, trust, SMSF or other entity, you have authority to bind that entity.
You must not use the Services where doing so would breach applicable laws, sanctions, licensing requirements or court orders.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate, current and complete information when creating an account and keep that information up to date.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, for maintaining the security of your login credentials, and for controlling access to the devices and email accounts linked to your account.
You must notify us promptly if you become aware of unauthorised access, a security incident, or any loss or compromise of credentials, devices, keys or recovery materials relevant to your use of the Services.
4. Nature of the Services
The Services are provided to help you configure, monitor and administer your chosen GuardBlock setup. Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing:
- we do not provide personal financial advice, legal advice, tax advice or investment advice;
- we do not guarantee that any vault design, policy, workflow or transaction is suitable for your circumstances;
- we do not act as your agent, fiduciary, trustee or custodian; and
- we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any feature, integration, policy engine, notification service or third-party dependency.
You are solely responsible for deciding whether the Services are appropriate for your needs and for obtaining independent professional advice where required.
5. Fees and payment
You must pay all fees, charges and taxes described on the website, in product documentation, in an order form, or otherwise agreed in writing.
Unless stated otherwise:
- fees are stated in the currency specified by us and are exclusive of taxes;
- you authorise us and our payment providers to charge the payment method you nominate;
- paid fees are non-refundable except to the extent required by law; and
- we may change fees prospectively by giving reasonable notice.
You are responsible for all blockchain network fees, mining fees, wallet fees, device costs, connectivity costs and third-party charges associated with your use of the Services.
6. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- the accuracy of all wallet addresses, transaction details, policies, contact details and instructions you provide;
- securely generating, storing, backing up and protecting your keys, seeds, recovery materials, hardware wallets and devices;
- testing your own backup, recovery and inheritance procedures;
- reviewing each transaction before signing or broadcasting it; and
- complying with all laws that apply to your acquisition, holding, transfer and use of bitcoin.
You must not:
- use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent or misleading conduct;
- use the Services in a way that infringes another person's rights;
- interfere with the Services, attempt unauthorised access, reverse engineer protected components except where non-excludable law permits, or introduce malware; or
- use the Services in connection with sanctioned persons, prohibited jurisdictions, or activity that would expose us or our service providers to legal or regulatory risk.
7. Bitcoin and technology risks
You acknowledge and accept that Bitcoin and self-custody arrangements involve substantial technical and operational risks, including:
- irreversible transactions;
- mistaken wallet addresses, policy settings or signing flows;
- loss, theft or compromise of keys, devices, seed phrases or backups;
- malware, phishing, SIM swap, account compromise or physical coercion;
- hardware wallet or software failure;
- delays, congestion, fee spikes, mempool volatility or other network issues;
- protocol changes, forks, chain splits and software incompatibilities; and
- loss caused by user error, inadequate operational security or third-party failure.
You are solely responsible for assessing and managing those risks.
8. Irreversible transactions
Bitcoin transactions are generally irreversible once broadcast and confirmed. GuardBlock is not responsible for losses arising from incorrect, duplicate, unauthorised or unintended transactions that are signed, approved or broadcast using your account, devices, keys or instructions, except to the extent caused by our breach of these Terms or a failure to exercise due care and skill where required by law.
9. Third-party hardware, software and services
The Services may interoperate with third-party hardware wallets, signing devices, wallet software, node software, cloud providers, communications tools and payment processors. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their acts, omissions, security, availability or performance.
Your use of third-party products and services is governed by the relevant third-party terms and policies. You are responsible for choosing, configuring and using those products safely.
10. Chain splits and protocol changes
If there is a fork/chain split, replay issue, protocol upgrade, emergency network condition or similar event, we may determine how or whether the Services will support the affected network, asset, workflow or transaction path.
In the event of a chain split, we do not guarantee support for every resulting chain, and we may suspend functionality while we assess risk.
11. Service changes, suspension and termination
We may modify, update, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services from time to time.
We may suspend or restrict your access immediately if we reasonably believe that:
- you have breached these Terms;
- your use creates security, legal, regulatory or operational risk;
- we are required to do so by law; or
- it is necessary to protect you, other users, the Services or our systems.
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may terminate your account on reasonable notice, or immediately for serious breach, unlawful conduct or material security risk.
Termination does not affect accrued rights, fees already owed, or any provisions that are intended to continue after termination.
12. Intellectual property
We own, or are licensed to use, all intellectual property rights in the Services, including the website, software, branding, text, graphics, user interfaces, documentation and related materials.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services for your internal lawful use.
You must not copy, distribute, sublicense, sell or create derivative works from the Services except as permitted by law or with our prior written consent.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and disclose personal information. By using the Services, you acknowledge that we may handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
14. Warranties and Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
Subject to that paragraph, the Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device or software environment, or fit for your particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and in relation to services not ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, our liability for breach of a non-excludable guarantee is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having the services supplied again.
15. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill, data or anticipated savings.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are also not liable for loss arising from:
- your failure to protect keys, seed phrases, backups, devices or account credentials;
- inaccurate information or instructions provided by you;
- the acts or omissions of third-party hardware, software or service providers;
- Bitcoin network conditions, chain splits, protocol changes, replay issue; or
- events outside our reasonable control.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Services or these Terms is limited to the total fees you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in this clause limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence where liability cannot be excluded by law.
16. Indemnity
You indemnify us and our officers, employees and contractors against loss, damage, liability, cost and expense (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Services, or your infringement of another person's rights, except to the extent the loss was caused by our own breach, negligence or misconduct.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will provide notice by posting the updated Terms on the website, through the Services, or by email.
The updated Terms will apply from the stated effective date. If you continue to use the Services after that date, you agree to the updated Terms.
18. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services and supersede prior discussions on that subject.
If any provision is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
Our delay or failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations as part of a corporate restructure, merger, sale of assets or by operation of law.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia and the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia.
In the event of a dispute, each party must use reasonable efforts to resolve the dispute by giving written notice of the dispute and allowing the other party a reasonable opportunity to respond, prior to initiating formal legal proceedings.
